Scalped is an ongoing comic book series by Vertigo Comics. The series' style can fairly be described as an amalgamation of the noir and Western genres, being as it concerns organized crime and is set on the (fictional) Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
The plot of the comic is partly inspired by Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist who was (questionably) arrested for the murder of two FBI agents in a reservation shootout in 1975.
